Hard drive storage for any DV camcorder

Coming later this year is a little black box that will connect between any FireWire-capable DV or HDV camcorder (which means pretty much all of them) and any USB 2.0 hard drive, ranging from iPods to multiple-terabyte disk arrays. Powered by either rechargeable batteries or an AC adaptor, the Catapult will let you record hours of high-quality digital video without the use of any video tapes.

It even extends your camcorder with features such as time lapse recording, and remote triggering (for example, using a motion detector to trigger recording).

The price is expected to be under $300.
